Nourish Project

5 Neighbourhood Houses partner to Nourish the Community during COVID-19.

Pilot project to rescue surplus food and provide free, nutritious meals for people doing it tough. The project is a coordinated and collaborative Neighbourhood House response to food insecurity in Maribyrnong.

Meals are prepared at Yarraville Community Centre kitchen by qualified staff and distributed by Angliss Neighbourhood House, Duke Street Community House, Braybrook and Maidstone Neighbourhood House and Yarraville Comunity Centre.

Anyone requiring meals, please contact Braybrook and Maidstone Neighbourhood House to arrange pick up on 9317 5610

BMNH Playgroup Free

Playgroup recommences for term 2 on Monday the 15th.
Come along, join the BMNH Playgroup, and connect with other mothers in your Neighbourhood. Share a light snack for the children and friendship for the Mum’s. Activities for the young ones will be provided.

Chatty Cafe at the Braybrook and Maidstone Neighbourhood House

Every Monday and Tuesday from 10.00 AM – 2.00 PM, The Braybrook and Maidstone Neighbourhood House are hosting a Chatty Cafe. Drop in for a chat and to socialise with other members.

Coming up next week at The Braybrook and Maidstone Neighbourhood House: A Liverwell workshop that is dedicated to spreading awareness for liver health and education for viral hepatitis. There will also be a guest speaker from Auspire Care  to talk about how to navigate the Aged Care system.

Tuesday

EMERGENCY RELIEF PROGRAM

This program is to support anyone on a low income or experiencing hardship. Each week we receive fruit, vegetables, pantry and dairy goods. This program runs every Tuesday throughout the year, except for Cup Day and Christmas closure. We also have frozen meals for pick up every Tuesday between 12.00 PM and 2.00 PM. Please call the office to make an appointment or if you need more information on (03) 9317 5610. This is a booking only program. Tuesday’s at The Braybrook and Maidstone Neighbourhood House is dedicated to providing families from our local communities with much-needed food relief. We’d like to mention SecondBite Australia and Water 2 All, who provides us with pantry goods, fresh fruit and vegetables so we can keep doing what we do throughout the year, helping out those in the community who do it tough.

Women’s Health Week at The Braybrook and Maidstone Neighbourhood House 2024:
This year BMNH will be hosting another event to celebrate and support women’s health and what our women go through. Afternoon tea will be supplied.

Mosaic and craft workshops

How to make mosaics, stones, and jewellery into a piece of art. 
Every Wednesday during term 1 and term 2.  
10am – 12pm Cost $3

2024 – Mental Wellbeing Program with Vonnie: 10  Free sessions
This program is designed to support you in exploring mindset wellness and supporting a positive mindset, through stress management and self-healing techniques. Changing Thought Patterns, Resilience and stress management, the attitude of Gratitude, and emotional balance.  All participants will receive a one-on-one session with Von.

MONDAY

Free bread hampers donated by Bakers Delight Sunshine between 9am and 2.30pm (or until all bread is gone).

TUESDAY

Emergency relief program; Fruit and Vegetable boxes, pantry goods and dairy products donated by SecondBite, Save the Food, Tony Water 2 All and frozen meals from The Nourish program. Anyone experiencing hardship can apply. For appointments and bookings, please ring 9317 5610. Pick up is between 12.30 to 3.30pm

Room hire

We have an activity room for hire to suit meetings, workshops and social groups etc. The room is available for casual or ongoing bookings.

Rates are affordable.

Trading table

Bring along your unwanted goods and donate them to the trading table. Goods must be in good condition. 80% of donations are given to those in need. Any proceeds are used to purchase materials for classes.
