Pilot project to rescue surplus food and provide free, nutritious meals for people doing it tough. The project is a coordinated and collaborative Neighbourhood House response to food insecurity in Maribyrnong.
Meals are prepared at Yarraville Community Centre kitchen by qualified staff and distributed by Angliss Neighbourhood House, Duke Street Community House, Braybrook and Maidstone Neighbourhood House Yarraville Comunity Centre and West Footscray Neighbourhood House.

Playgroup will begin in term 1 – Monday the 6th of February – 3rd April 2023.
Come along, join the BMNH Playgroup, and connect with other mothers in your Neighbourhood. Share a light snack for the children and friendship for the Mum’s. Activities for the young ones will be provided.

Come along and join us for a fun hands-on Workshop, using acrylic paints, paper, teabags and other materials. Participants will complete one canvas using mixed media to create a layered colourful piece of art.
All materials supplied. Bring along an apron or an old shirt.
No experience is necessary.
– The second session is Monday the 24th of April where participants will learn how to make their own accordian journal… with a coffee twist.
– The third session will be held on Monday the 22nd of May where Bev will show participants how to make their own beautiful works of art through the technique of paper marbling.

If your needing support or have any questions solved regarding smartphones or the internet, or QR codes and Vaccination status uploaded onto your phones, our tutor can guide you through your questions and concerns members will be supported by Zoom if restrictions apply or one on one at House.

This program is to support anyone on a low income or experiencing hardship. Each week we receive fruit, vegetables, pantry and dairy goods. This program runs every Tuesday throughout the year, except for Cup Day and Christmas closure. We also have frozen meals for pick up every Tuesday between 12.00 PM and 3.00 PM. Tuesday’s at The Braybrook and Maidstone Neighbourhood House is dedicated to providing families from our local communities with much-needed food relief. We’d like to mention SecondBite Australia, who provided us with pantry goods, fresh fruit and vegetables so we can keep doing what we do throughout the year, helping out those in the community who do it tough.

Mosaic and craft workshops
Learn how to make a mosaic by working with colourful tiles to make a piece of art. Every Wednesday.
